Simple Story Summary

Swaminathan, commonly called Swami, is a schoolboy who fears his strict teacher Samuel. One Monday morning, Swami pretends to have a headache to escape going to school. His mother believes him, but his father suspects the excuse.

When Swami complains that Samuel is cruel, his father writes a strong complaint letter to the Headmaster and insists that Swami deliver it personally. Swami becomes frightened after reading the severe tone of the letter.

At school, Samuel behaves normally and does not punish anyone. Swami realises that his fear was exaggerated. Finally, he hands over the letter during recess and feels regret for his dishonesty.
